With Daring Faith by Rebecca Davis is the biography of Christian missionary Amy Carmichael. This biography begins in Ireland when Amy’s mother tells her young daughter that God gave her brown eyes for a reason. Later, Amy was a Christian missionary first Japan and then in India. The Hindu women had many questions for Amy, but they had little interest in her God. Amy would find her place of ministry caring for the thousands of Hindu children, children whose eyes were as brown as the eyes Amy had once wished were blue. This biography is the first children’s book to cover the entire life of Amy Carmichael.

Cast of "Binding Ties" enjoyed reading togetherMy actors and I read "With Daring Faith" as we were rehearsing the show "Binding Ties" (published by BJU). This biography of Amy Carmichael was easy to read and contained many descriptions of Indian life and dress which were very helpful as we tried to bring the story to life for the stage. I work with a wide age-range, so I appreciated that "With Daring Faith" was simple enough to be understood by the younger ones while also holding the attention of the older actors.
