I love how BJU integrates biblical values at the same time they push for academic excellence. My son finds the stories intriguing and wants to continue reading if the story is split among multiple days. The only downside is that the "skill station" lessons are separated in the back. This makes it confusing to get the correct pages out, because those particular lessons are in a separate section in the back of the work-text and don't follow in order with the other lessons. While this is confusing and slightly annoying, it hasn't stopped me from continuing to buy BJU's reading curriculum. I believe that the excellence in value, quality, biblical integration, and academic excellence outweigh this drawback. I still highly recommend this entire curriculum!

The worktext is very good. It not only covers the stories being read, but also develops skills that benefit readers. The skill lessons are very well done and the author scrapbooks are interesting. It is a good way to learn from the stories.

The workbook is excellent. It combines a variety of new skills and comprehension checks. I have used several reading curricula in private school and home school situations. I always recommend this material.
