Do not recommend as core curriculum. Good supplement. The teacher's resources are minimal, and there is no audio or visual with this level of the curriculum. The Biblical integration/missionary focus is to the extent that I feel the text becomes less relatable to my students. The vocabulary and grammar progression is not clear. It's difficult to tell the students what they are accountable for knowing and studying using only the textbook. The chapters do not center around thematic vocabulary so that the vocabulary is cohesive enough to practice speaking Spanish about a topic. The readings are good, but they have to be the center of the curriculum, reading every day, and answering worksheets about what is read. I like more speaking activities incorporated into the textbook, and thematic vocabulary that the students can practice applying to themselves. I have gone back to using our old text book, and supplementing with readings and activities from the BJU textbook. I feel that this text is confusing because it seems designed to be individually studied, but not taught in a classroom. Its strength is well-written reading sections mostly focusing on spiritual vocabulary. I feel this curriculum seems more designed for homeschooling, where students spend a lot of time reading and writing, but not as much time interacting. Also, the vocabulary is fairly advanced, which is a nice challenge, but the overall difficulty level in the length and number of readings seems more appropriate for Spanish 4 to me.

Spanish 3 Test Answer KeyI received my order in shrink wrap, new condition. It arrived within a couple of days, sooner than I expected. My order was quick and easy to place. I would definitely order from Bob Jones again in the future.

I reccomend itMy daughter is using the Spanish 3 as a self-study in her christian school. She had 2 years of Spanish with A Becka curriculum. So far the little differences haven't made much of a difference to her. Most things are self explaining. It is set up for home-school, however it is difficult to do a lot of the oral parts because there are no other students or teacher to converse with. Another difficult part is the test / quiz grading. The answers are not always a black or white . Test keys give an example of answer to a question, but it doesn't necessarily mean student's answer is right or wrong. I have to search outside help with the correcting of tests. Not every home-schooler has that option. My advice is have an understanding of Spanish yourself or make sure you know somwone that can assist you.
