Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reading Books for K5 Our teacher and students love these resources. The colors are beautiful and the "stories" engaging. Seems like the "Words at Work" and "Reading Guide" pages should be switched, since the Reading Guide is obviously for the teacher and means nothing to the student. Another suggestion - thicker paper. We decided to use volunteer help to disassemble, laminate and reassemble to make them last longer. $47 per student will hopefully make these last three (or more) years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely love it I am using this worktext in combination with K5 DVD program. The pages in this worktext are brightly colored and fun. My children especially enjoy cut and paste activities , and there are even little books in the back for them to color and fold together. The pages tear out easily. I find this program very easy to use, and fun. I would purchase this Beginnings worktext again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great curriculum The only problem I have is that the cover came off in the first week and he pages are falling out. If you want to remove the pages then this would be great, but I like to keep it all together so it is really frustrating. This book is not necessary for the overall curriculum if your child can already write his letters and recognize letter sounds, this book would not be profitable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great materials! My five year old daughter is loving school because BJU has made it so inviting for her to learn new things. It keeps her interest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun little booklets This set of booklets for kindergartners is very good for the beginning reader to get used to the idea of reading. The child practices reading with a parent several times with the same book, so that they gain confidence in that set of words.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ideas for Lessons I home schooled my four for twenty-nine years. Now I have a grandson that will be home schooled. The materials I used are gone, but this is a good comparison. The one thing missing is a full version of the alphabet song to use with the child. That was very helpful when I taught. No where do I see the words for each letter to teach the sounds of the letters. Now I am going off of memory here. I have always considered K to be the most crucial year taught. This needs to be brought back in on the next revision.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from K5 not user friendly though great content This is my first experience with BJU for kindergarten. I have recently discovered BJU for my older child and have loved their language/reading program for 2nd and third grade. For kindergarten I had to break my budget to buy all the needed items for their Beginnings curriculum. However, my biggest challenge is finding what the curriculum is asking for. For instance, some learning song are in the back of one book or maybe in the front of another. Work pages are the same. Except for the workbook pages, the other work sheets send me on a scavenger hunt trying to find them. As far as the content, it is supurb.
