Thus far, we have enjoyed this Math 3 curriculum. There are many programs to choose from - Abeka, Singapore, Saxon, etc.. However, the reason we chose BJ Math 3 is because it is incredibly "user-friendly." You just can't go wrong in teaching this program. It is a bit higher priced than some programs, but what you get is a basic, step-by-step daily list on how to explain concepts and teach them w/each and every lesson. We have been using BJ curriculums for a few years now, and our children have successfully learned concepts that we know, as parents, can be a bit challenging. If you can afford it, the visuals that this Math 3 offers are of good help. Sometimes pictures help children learn better, helping them visualize a concept that they may otherwise not be able to grasp on their own. Also, if you are interested in teaching "mental math," this program seems to adopt those concepts, and explains, step-by-step, how to teach these interesting methods. Although some concepts may be a bit challenging for our child at first, with much practice, she is "getting it." Although one's opinion of a "good math program" is subjective, according to each parent's opinion, we would definitely encourage parents to check this one out. Call BJ and ask many questions, if need be. We did, and so far so good!
