Benjamin’s Sling by Eileen M. Berry is a poetic version of the Christmas story through the eyes of a young shepherd. One night, a group of angels tells Benjamin and the other shepherds of a newborn Savior. Rejoicing, the men decide to go in search of Him. But Benjamin remembers the terrible night when his father died defending the sheep from wolves. How can Benjamin leave the flock alone on the dark hillside? Follow in Benjamin’s footsteps as he finds a new source of peace and trust in the infant Jesus. Simple and lyrical, this retelling of Christ’s birth will delight young and old readers alike.

Enjoyed this very much!Benjamin's sling tells the story of the birth of Christ in such a way that children understand and adults are inspired. We were all captivated by the telling of a boy that, in the end, was not much different than any of us today. The story gives a message to young and old alike that when we are scared, lonely, or in need of someone, we can ALWAYS depend on Jesus.
Thank you Eileen M. Berry for reminding us that Jesus was also BORN for us.
