Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good The curriculum is very thorough, covering math on a 5th grade level very well. However, at the beginning of the year, there is no review or easing into grade level lessons. It begins too quickly, too heavily, and needs a few days of "easing into" the subject.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could Stand Improvement I'm a professor turned teacher, and I've seen a lot of textbooks in my life. I'm not impressed with this teacher's edition at all. I'm starting it for homeschooling, so I've got a long way to go. The answers for textbook pages 23-24 are missing. The font for the answers is too small. This is an expensive book, as textbook and teacher's editions usually are, but how much of the money goes to colored ink? The biblical integration, the newest buzzword in Christian education, wastes page after page talking about piloting. Just the facts, please. Consider college math textbooks, that teach so much without all this expensive color, and stick to the subject material. I'm a Christian, but I still think that we should concentrate on academic excellence, something that seems to be lacking on occasion in Christian presses. Yes, God created all this. Yes, we can help mankind, excuse me, humankind, by fulfilling our dominion mandate. But let's write answer keys with font large enough for someone like me who teaches all day and homeschools math in the evening. The colors and stories and career goals are dessert.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality With the manipulative being nothing more than a glossy posterboard material I feel the quality is poor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Math 5 This makes the third year that I have been homeschooling. I switched to this curriculum, because I felt the program that we had been using went too fast. This also goes fast, but there are more problems and more review. There is also a daily review, which helps to reinforce the concepts for retention. I am pleased I switched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Love this T.E. For my 5th grader! Just wish it would be included with the DVD kit instead of having to purchase separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything is perfect except I would like one change I love Bob Jones curriculum. I have used it for years. It is very thorough. It walks step by step through learning a concept. It then builds as the next pages continue. My children picked up very quickly and I could move through some areas quickly, but if they were having trouble I had a thorough breakdown of how to do it. The only thing I wish was different was they used to have their charts and visuals on a spiral flip board. I kept mine from my son and used them if I could when my daughter went through those levels. They have changed to having most of the documents on CD and it's annoying. I spend a lot of time trying to find the document I want. I miss the flip chart. I wish they would give me that option to buy it if I wanted to. I would! Otherwise, I love Bob Jones and would recommended it!
