Heritage Studies 1 Student Text (3rd ed.)

Heritage Studies 1 Student Text (3rd ed.)
Look inside this book
Heritage Studies 1 Student Text is a colorful, easy-to-read presentation of social studies that integrates civics, culture, economics, geography, and history. Beginning with the framework of God’s redemptive plan, the book includes an age-appropriate study of civics and government and then covers United States history from Native Americans to the Plymouth Colony—all from the perspective of a Christian worldview. The final chapter contrasts the past and the present, noting changes that have taken place in the way we live. Each chapter includes a poem, eye-catching artwork, maps, graphs, and photos, quick-check questions, and an extended hands-on activity to enhance learning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Really like how this book starts with the Family and then out from there I appreciate that this book starts with your Family, then community, then city, then state, then nation, then international. I feel that really works well with young children- to go from what they know and then expand out from there. Other books start with the World and then eventually get closer to home, but I think younger kids would have greater understanding with it explained the way this book does. I have recommended this book to 2 or 3 other homeschool Families that have similar age children. April 28, 2015
