U.S. History Subject Kit (4th ed.)

U.S. History Subject Kit (4th ed.)
Teach your teenager about the history of the United States from a biblical perspective with the United States History educational materials from BJU Press. Emphasis is placed on the forces, events, issues, and people that have shaped our nation from pre-Columbus days to the elections of 2010. The educational materials will encourage your homeschooler to think critically about the material, not just memorize a collection of facts.

The United States History Subject Kit contains the 6 items necessary for successfully teaching United States History: the student text, the teacher’s edition, the tests, the test answer key, and the student and teacher activity manuals.

U.S. History Subject Kit (4th ed.) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good balance of facts and narrative We chose this textbook for our co-op because of its good balance between facts and narrative - making it readable for us and our kids, but also informative. Other products we looked at were either skewed toward "just the facts" with not enough context to fully understand the history, or so much narrative that finding the facts and basic organization was a challenge. We also really liked the pictures and helpful sidebars that enhance the material. The textbook is well organized and easy to teach from. We do wish the teacher's manual had more contextual information and provided the answers to the review definitions - we can look them up, but having the answers readily available saves teacher time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from History review I am very pleased with BJU history at each level that I teach. The extra facts and resources that are listed are a great help. The review questions after each section are concise and the bold lettered terms make it easy to find and review. I appreciate the Student Handbook and we have a good time in class discussing and doing the exercises. The Godly principles that are interwoven in the text book are what Christian schools should be all about and BJ Press does it exceptionally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Resource! I have been searching for textbooks that can supplement my children's public education which is lacking to say the least. I was especially looking for a U.S. history text and this may be the best I have ever seen including my college text books. Easy to read, nice artwork, great quality and very subtle but important Christian points integrated throughout the book. It does a great job of showing the importance of Christianity throughout our history without going too far. I could not recommend this book more highly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great content, would love other reading options The only thing that can make this better is if there were an actual digital copy (not the one that you partner with--but on a major platform, namely Amazon Kindle). I have a visually impaired student, and we would benefit from the text-to-speech feature or an audiobook. The text is really small in the book. I would use all BJU text if audiobooks, or at least a better digital edition (that is not rented, but available for purchase and compatible with text to speech) were available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from United States History My son really likes this book. He says it is easy to understand, interesting, and helps you understand the relevance of events and see how things fit together. We are not very far into the book, but so far we are very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from US History Text Overall it's a good textbook. I would prefer hard cover versus paperback. Also to have a a political map, additional charts and graphs, and a glossary of the terms and people in the back would be beneficial for students locating and clearly defining terms.
