Rated 4 out of 5 by from Content is awesome student book is made cheap We absolutely love the content. It was bright and eye catching and easy to follow. That being said for the amount of money we paid for these books the student text and lab book should be hardback and the paper thicker. I'm constantly telling my son be careful that you don't tear the pages. I could not believe they would make this book so flimsy and sell it to the consumer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall it is a very good product. After using the Bob Jones 7th Grade Curriculum for many years, this book has its good and bad. I do not like that the student activity pages are in a separate book now. It was much better when they were combined and with a part A & B. I find myself not using these pages as much as I used to because of it. Also, the chapters on genetics are now more that of a 9th grade level and are now more difficult for the students to grasp at a 7th grade level. The information in the books is outstanding but there is SO much to cover in 1 year. It is a bit of knowledge overload for a 7th grader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My daughter loved this book! This text is well written, up to date, and eye catching. The pages are attractive and my daughter, (who isn't keen on science) found this material interesting and enjoyable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works! I wish that the activity pages were still in the textbook, rather than a separate book. That is something I prefer from the previous edition. I understand having a separate lab manual, but for additional worksheets that help the students further apply the "book learning", it would be so much more helpful to have them in just one book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the newest edition, more information that is helpful! I especially like the first page of the chapter, it is a good introduction to the "meat" of the chapter. The facets are, and always have been, good for explaining and detail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This book is a good buy for junior high science classes. This book is very readable for the students. The vocabulary words are right on target for what is necessary for the chapters that we have worked on so far. Some of the end of chapter questions are a little advanced for this age group. The Bible integration is interesting and very applicable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Life Science Pros: This book is current and teaches the latest developments in the field of life science. My previous book was outdated, so this edition saves me a lot of time researching to double check the information. I also really like that the book follows the same layout as the previous edition. This means that most of my lesson plans work with only minor tweaking. Another text from BJU was updated in a way that is completely different than the old edition. Unfortunately, it will take much work to rewrite all my plans. I am happy that is not the case with this edition. Cons: This text tends toward a more conventional method of teaching. I wish there were ideas for interactive motivation and wrap ups for each lesson. Especially for the age the text is designed, students learn best through interactive, enjoyable methods.
