In The Battle Within: What Being a Mom Taught Me About Myself, Robin Wood chronicles the spiritual battles she fought as a new wife and mother. Unprepared for the selflessness required in motherhood, Robin tried to become Supermom only to find that her own pride and the battle between her sin nature and the Spirit were ruining her relationship with God.
Robin offers a step-by-step plan with Bible references to win the battles she describes. She affirms, “There is hope—an absolute rock-solid truth. God is faithful. His Word is powerful and full of comfort. And there is help—real, credible support.”

Insightful book for women of all agesI am an "empty nester," but the many insights Robin shares about how my flesh can control my life without my even being aware of it were life changing! Women, whether young or old, battle their flesh on a daily basis, and, for this reason, I would recommend it to any female.

Even if you're not a mom, the perspective is valuableThis book was recommended to me by a friend. I'm not a mother, but the depth and honesty about being not only a mom but a married woman brought me a deeper understanding of God's desire for my heart. I've ordered it for several friends that are moms, and their response is overwhelmingly positive. Robin consistently turns the reader back to the Word, our sword, and I was left profoundly encouraged about the practicality and effectiveness of that weapon against evil.
