Last year, my daughter did not like math. I was concerned that we might have a struggle with it again this year, but we were pleasantly surprised with this class. The teacher is cheerful, lively, and clear. So far my daughter is enjoying the class and scoring 90+ on the quizzes and exams. We recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by BWebb Very good coverage of material
We have finished two chapters so far. Even thought this is a mastery course, we are find many new concepts that need to be learned. There are more problems than in the other BJU grades but that is also helpful for mastery if necessary. I can see how this course is preparing my student for higher level math.
The teacher is very entertaining. He helps to keep the lesson "light" with his jokes and silliness. That helps in math, in my opinion.
A very thorough course for anyone who wants to insure their student is prepared for upper level math and SAT and ACT tests.

We've used the BJU Press materials for 5 years, but this was our first attempt to move into a junior high math course. Mr. Harmon is a PHENOMENAL teacher! He explains the material well and is a very engaging teacher. The textbooks and printed materials are laid out nicely for both the student and the teacher. We ended up dropping this course and returning to our previous curriculum, though, entirely due to the material being covered too quickly for adequate retention before moving on to new concepts.

Well, i might have a different review once we get further into this course, but for now we are 8 days into our school year and only 5 days into the course. We are only 5 days into the course because the amount of work scheduled each day is more than my daughter can handle. This might change as she gets more accustomed to the format and we brainstorm ways to streamline her movement through the course, but for now we are finding it to be a very heavy load that takes an enormous amount of time out of her day.
