Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well organized for honors American Lit The biggest benefits of BJU curriculum are the good organization and the biblical integration. This is a big upgrade from the previous version, but it is still fairly complex. There is a considerable amount of discussion material and I think the demands on the student make this an honors course. There are opportunities for extra reading and writing. The course is organized in a way that "boring" or "uninteresting" (per my student) works are generally separated by higher interest works. Although I disagree theologically with some of the author's biblical integration, the discussions are thought provoking and require the student to support their beliefs with Bible verses. So, like all BJU kits, this one teaches more than the subject matter. The only thing neither my student nor I like is the arrangement of the end of lesson questions; every "question" is actually multiple questions. Although I appreciate the reviews at the end of a section, my own study guides are clearer. It is a very well-planned set, but completing all the recommended work is for an advanced student.
