Look inside this book
Charlie is the continuing story of missionaries Steve and Liz Bailey, written by Gloria Repp for middle-grade readers. With their trusty sled dogs, led by the half-wolf Mik-Shrok, Steve and Liz expand their ministry to the Eskimos of the Alaska Territory. Fierce blizzards, thin ice, and flesh-freezing cold threaten the Baileys every day. But their greatest challenge is Am-nok, a powerful shaman who preys on Eskimo superstition.

Steve Bailey has been ministering to Charlie, a promising teenage Eskimo with an eye for the supernatural. As Am-nok exerts his influence over Charlie, Steve realizes that only God can protect the boy from the icy grip of evil. Charlie is Christian fiction, Book 2 in the Adventures of an Arctic Missionary Series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlie I bought this book early for a birthday present and so it has not been read. However, BJU Press has always put out great quality books that my children and I enjoy. The excepts from some of their book that are in their reading curriculum have caused me to buy some of the books so that I could have the whole story. February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent! Well written continuation of the missionary story that began in Mik-Shrok. Gloria Repp did a fantastic job of mixing storyline with biblical truths. The adventures that the missionary experiences are exciting enough to keep your attention, real enough to make you feel as if they could actually happen, and biblical enough to remind you to keep your focus on God. As if these things were not enough, you actually get to learn a great deal about the life of an Eskimo and what living in Alaska would have been like in the 50s. May 28, 2013
