Mr. Duane Farley, BA, MA

Mr. Duane Farley, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Farley has experience preaching to and teaching high school and adult students (IBE). "Teaching in general is both a challenge and a delight that reaps wonderful benefits. This is certainly the case in regard to teaching the Bible. No other subject is more intellectually stimulating and personally applicable to both teacher and student. I pray that my students will grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ as a result of the high school Bible module series."

Mr. Manuel Mendoza, BA, MA, MDiv

Mr. Manuel Mendoza, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Manuel Mendoza is excited about the privilege of teaching students the Bible. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 14. It wasn’t until he was 21 years old that he knew the Lord’s calling for his life was to preach His Word. "The Bible can convert the soul of the unbeliever, and it cleanses the soul of the believer. The Bible is important for our times, and, therefore, it must be taught accurately. For me, teaching the Bible is a great joy and privilege. My desire is to help guide your student through a life that is pleasing to Jesus Christ. My goal is for the student to strive for holy living by developing sound convictions based on God's Word."

Mr. Barkley May, BA, MA, MDiv

Mr. Barkley May, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. May enjoys teaching from God’s Word. "God’s Word is powerful. It convicts, encourages, challenges, and strengthens the believer--and it is still the final and absolute authority for us today. All of God’s Word is just as relevant and applicable to us as it was to those to whom it was originally written. For these reasons it is exciting and challenging to teach the Bible to your student. My goal is that each student will deepen his knowledge of God’s Word, better understand how the Bible applies to him, and grow in his relationship with Christ."

Mr. Michael Murphy, BA, MEd

Mr. Michael Murphy, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMichael Murphy has a bachelor’s degree in history as well as a master’s degree in education with a history emphasis. He has taught World History, United States History, World Geography, and Bible in a traditional classroom for many years. He enjoys coaching mock trial, doing public address at sporting events, and playing golf. But most of all, he enjoys history—both the big themes and little details--and he hopes his students will too as he effectively communicates the course content and infuses a lot of fun into the process.

Miss Rebekah Pringle, BA, MA

Miss Rebekah Pringle, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMiss Pringle's interest in literature began at an early age through her mother's almost daily reading aloud of good literature as a part of her family's school day. The past 10 years of focused study and teaching in the disciplines of Creative Writing and English have increased Miss Pringle's delight and enthusiasm in analyzing and evaluating all genres of literature. “Everyone loves a story. A well-crafted story, poem, essay, or drama delights me on several levels, but it's the benefit of gaining an increased understanding and appreciation of God's inspired literature, His Word, that motivates me to apply and grow in my own literary analysis skills and to do my best to instill in my students a similar desire for and delight in literature. It's my prayer that as we enjoy great literary works together we will be inspired to love and pursue God's truth presented in His greatest Book of literature.”

Mrs. Ginger Ericson, BS, MAT

Mrs. Ginger Ericson, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMrs. Ericson gained her love of science from her own high school biology teacher. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bob Jones University in 1999, she went on to complete a master’s degree in secondary education. It was also at BJU that she met her husband, Geof, who teaches social studies at Bob Jones Academy. Mrs. Ericson has been a part of BJU Press Distance Learning for over 15 years. While she was finishing her education, she served as an assistant to the biology teacher before coming on as a part of the science faculty. She hopes that through science, her students will see the glory and power of their Creator God and desire to serve Him with their whole heart.

Dr. Lesa Seibert, BS, MEd, EdS, EdD

Dr. Lesa Seibert, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningDr. Seibert has over 15 years teaching experience in Christian education. She has grown up desiring to be a teacher, and she desires to instill in her students a love for learning. Her main goal in teaching grammar is to show how English follows a logical pattern. God’s Word states that "knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth" (Proverbs 14:6). Gaining knowledge is hard when a student does not understand what he is trying to learn. Therefore, understanding is the key to gaining knowledge. In teaching literature, Dr. Seibert desires to show the beauty of the English language in written form. The literary concepts of metaphors, allusions, symbols, etc., increase not only the enjoyment of a written work but also the impact of the message.

Mrs. Tammie Genco, BS, MEd

During that time she met her husband, Tom. They were married in May 2002. Mrs. Genco likes monster trucks, theater, mountains, roller coasters, and teenagers. Her desire for her Algebra and Geometry students is that they will be better equipped to serve Christ after this class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very pleased with how organized the curriculum was this year. I have been using Bob Jones for both of my sons. One of my sons graduated high school using Bob Jones since he was in 6th grade. He got a high score on his SAT and I was very pleased knowing that he got a great education with Bob Jones material. I also am so pleased with how the papers are already printed this year and how they are organized. This has been the best and easiest year for me to oversee my sons work. I have 2 more years of high school with my last child and I am thankful for such a great, godly curriculum! October 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by we like the DVD's and books We have been using this system since 4th Grade and now she is in 10th Grade. She has always made really good scores on SAT's and we credit the Bob Jones curriculum. September 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT CURRICULUM! I chose to go with BJU DVDs all across the board. I am VERY pleased with quality in every subject. I find though, Geometry takes time to get through. (We have to wait for students to input their answers through the IRU.) Miss Genco has students interact through their IRUs which is time consuming for us, since that does not apply to us. Although we can appreciate when students ask questions as we can not, and that often will answer questions we have! I really like how EVERY subject is presented through a Biblical point. I do not think I could go back to any other curriculum! I only wish I would have started with BJU. November 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much Better! The Grade 10 curriculum is working well for my child. I love the new changes that were made to this year's parents packets. It is much easier to follow along with and everything that I need is all in one place. Thank you for the changes! September 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terribly disappointing dvd format! I was apprehensive when I read the other review about what the dvd was going to be like for this class! But, we didn't want to change curriculum since BJU is streamlined through the grades. We've been using BJU since kindergarden & distance learning dvds since junior high & loved it...especially Mr. Harmon. But when we got the Spanish for the first time, we hated the dvd format & immediately sought another curriculum for this subject. This is the same...it wastes the students time with people 'calling in' and the teacher waiting for people to 'call in.' So now we have to fast forward to find the teaching part. This desperately needs to be redone! As to the text content, I can't tell that much since we haven't finished it yet, but I do already know in the beginning with sets there isn't enough information to tell you how to shade the sets when you draw them! Hopefully there will be enough details for the rest of it, though! (and can I add my kids really miss Mr. Harmon this year!) August 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful material... The material is wonderful. Our girls have enjoyed doing each of the classes. The only complaint I have would be that it is a little difficult finding exactly which books contain tests, quizzes, etc. For example, we still have not found quiz 1 for Bible, but I have the answers for three of the questions in my teacher manual? It would be easier if the teacher manual listed books/page #'s of where to find material. August 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by All classes are very good except geometry. Love all the classes and material! My 15 yr.old son does very well at mastering the material presented to him with the BJU 10th grade DVD kit. He just prefers learning geometry on his own rather than wasting time with the other incoming questions from other students. Thanks for asking. August 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Frustrating My son likes math and was excited to take Geometry; however, the BJU format for homeschoolers was frustrating. So much time was spent with students calling in with questions and not nearly enough lecture time. Also, when there was a lecture, it did not seem to coincide with the lesson. My son was angry over it and did not have the patience to sift through the needless parts. It drove me nuts too!!! I would recommend BJU go back to just lecture for homeschoolers and stop trying to integrate the private classroom!! June 23, 2014
