Mr. Daryl Kopp, BA

Mr. Daryl Kopp, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Kopp grew up in an unsaved family and trusted Christ at 16 years of age, putting the much-needed perspective in his life that had been so miserably absent. Since then, he has been devoted to the Word of God. Reading, studying, teaching, and preaching God’s Word have been a passion, whether teaching fifth-grade Sunday school classes, preaching at youth camps, starting churches in Kenya and Ireland, or teaching Bible in college. "The fruit of all Bible study is to know Christ more intimately, love and adore Him more completely, walk with Him more faithfully, and live for Him more passionately. My goal is to help your student know the facts and stories of the Bible in such a way that Christ is the obvious focal point. I pray that my students will see Christ and be excited about a life of commitment to Him, joyfully exemplifying the heart of Christ when He said, ‘Not my will, but thine, be done.’"

Mrs. Sherri Vick, BS

Mrs. Sherri Vick, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningSherri Vick previously taught various elementary and junior high grades. "I like to look at the picture as a whole—to relate one subject to another so that the child can see how God’s plan fits together. I want the child to want to learn, so the lessons have to be fun. Hands-on is the best way, so I don’t want the student to just watch, but participate too! One of my goals is that, after watching the lessons, your child will continue in the things he has learned and develop lifelong learning skills that he can use both now and in the future."

Mrs. Cynthia Bullock, BS

Mrs. Cynthia Bullock, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningAfter graduating from Bob Jones University in 1987, Cynthia Bullock went on to teach history in Virginia, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina. It was in Michigan that she met her husband, who was the math teacher in the Christian school where they served together for 17 years. They have four children, three girls and a boy. She took ten years off to stay home with them since three of the four are profoundly deaf. When they mainstreamed into a normal classroom, she returned to the classroom. The Lord led her here to BJU Press Distance Learning in 2011. “I'm so excited about having your child as my student. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve you by coming along side and lightening your load.”

Mr. Timothy Snow, BA, MS

Mr. Timothy Snow, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Snow grew up in a pastor’s home that encouraged service for Christ and saw the need for a solid, Christian education. His parents often sacrificed to see that each of their children was in a Christian school or that they were homeschooled with Christian curriculum. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in history and a Master’s degree in secondary education, he began teaching in Christian schools. In the past twenty years he has served as a Christian school teacher and principal, and God has allowed him to instruct students in history, grammar, literature, and Bible. Mr. Snow also enjoys reading and he is always in search of new books or stories to read. In Explorations in Literature, Mr. Snow desires to pass along his passion for a solid Christian education as well as his love of reading and understanding literature.

Mr. Bill Harmon, BS

Mr. Bill Harmon, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningBill Harmon has loved science for as long as he can remember. After completing his B.S. in Chemistry, he returned to Florida where he gained experience teaching a variety of subjects: science, math, Latin, and computer courses. Now he works as a chemist in the Safety Services Office at BJU, teaches Distance Learning Physics and Algebra, and teaches Chemistry at Bob Jones Academy. He is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Secondary Education. He and his wife Mary Ann have two children, Brian and Janette. His favorite Bible verse is II Timothy 3:14.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mr. Harmon is the best!!!! I love the fact that if my daughter is having issues we can watch the videos and help her with the understanding. I must say, I have not see a lot of this and I made it through Geometry in High School. He is upbeat and entertaining. Does an excellent job and using different voices and tones. You can feel his excitement of the opportunity to teach math to our kids. This program has been a life saver!!! March 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for younger than 7th grade; needs 3rd Edition books My kids and I have enjoyed the online science courses by Mrs. VIck. We have found them all to be good for an age younger than what it is labeled, so my 4th and 6th grader are doing fine with the Life Science material. Please note that this version of the online Life Science requires THIRD EDITION books, NOT the 4th Edition books that are currently being sold separately. We found this out the hard way. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Quality and Bible Integration The quality of the instruction, student text, and workbooks is excellent. The Bible is integrated into every subject. February 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Science course for 7th grade! My daughter switched to the DLO Life Science class after trying a different science curriculum for a few weeks. She likes the Life Science class with Mrs. Vick so much better because she really enjoys the subject and also does well with the online classes (she is a strong visual learner). It is a lot of work (she spends 1 to 1.5 hours per day), but she is enjoying it and learning a lot. Mrs. Vick is a wonderful teacher. I highly recommend this class especially for students with a strong interest in life sciences/biology. My daughter will be very well prepared for high school biology after taking this class. Rated 5 out of 5 by You won't be disappointed Excellent teachers, excellent books, and wonderful customer service! September 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by We Love Miss Vick Wow --- Mrs. Vick's 7th grade Life Science class is incredible! Mrs. Vick pulls together a fantastic array of resources and guest speakers that I would have never had access to as a homeschool mom. I originally bought this for my 7th grade daughter, but eventually all of my children wanted to watch it with her! Some of the Distance Learning classes I've purchased have been more interesting than others, but Life Science was definitely worth the money. July 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Education and Super Biblical! We're starting our sixth year with BJU (times two kids) and we love it. The teachers in the videos are generally quite good. The material is presented in an engaging way and is covered quite thoroughly. We have no doubts at all about the quality of the education our kids are receiving as we use this curriculum. We need to give special praise to the reading and Bible programs. From the earliest levels the reading books are so well written that my wife and I read them for ourselves. They teach great, Biblical lessons and when the grade-level is finished we are setting almost all of them aside to read with our grandkids someday. The Bible program is very solid and we are so impressed with how firmly they hold to the traditional understanding of the Scriptures. We also love the way in which BJU works Biblical ideas and lessons into almost every subject. It is seamless and really shows how the Lord impacts every area of life. We have had maybe 3 or 4 technical glitches over 5 completed years of using the curriculum. All were resolved quickly (with 24 hrs) by the technical support team. The only caution we have is that the curriculum is fairly time-intensive. In the lower grades we were able to carefully manage our time and watch all the videos for both grades alongside our kids on a single computer. Now that they are older, they really each need their own computer to be able to get through everything in a day. Well worth it, though. We love this curriculum and have no intention of looking for anything else. July 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the curriculum, not parent's pages The curriculum is terrific and I like the way a common theme is woven through every subject. The puppetry is a little juvenile for older kids, but I think it's cute. The only part I have a hard time with is the parent's pages. It's difficult to understand and I hate not having a hard copy of the teacher's manuals. It's hard to review quizzes and tests and not be able to have the manuals right there to offer explanations. I needed someone to sit there with me and go through them. Overall, you can't beat BJU press. I thinks it's the best that can be found. January 13, 2015
