Mr. Daryl Kopp, BA

Mr. Daryl Kopp, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Kopp grew up in an unsaved family and trusted Christ at 16 years of age, putting the much-needed perspective in his life that had been so miserably absent. Since then, he has been devoted to the Word of God. Reading, studying, teaching, and preaching God’s Word have been a passion, whether teaching fifth-grade Sunday school classes, preaching at youth camps, starting churches in Kenya and Ireland, or teaching Bible in college. "The fruit of all Bible study is to know Christ more intimately, love and adore Him more completely, walk with Him more faithfully, and live for Him more passionately. My goal is to help your student know the facts and stories of the Bible in such a way that Christ is the obvious focal point. I pray that my students will see Christ and be excited about a life of commitment to Him, joyfully exemplifying the heart of Christ when He said, ‘Not my will, but thine, be done.’"

Mrs. Sherri Vick, BS

Mrs. Sherri Vick, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningSherri Vick previously taught various elementary and junior high grades. "I like to look at the picture as a whole—to relate one subject to another so that the child can see how God’s plan fits together. I want the child to want to learn, so the lessons have to be fun. Hands-on is the best way, so I don’t want the student to just watch, but participate too! One of my goals is that, after watching the lessons, your child will continue in the things he has learned and develop lifelong learning skills that he can use both now and in the future."

Mr. Jamie Swingle, BA, MED

Mr. Jamie Swingle, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMr. Swingle has 7 years of teaching experience and a genuine love for history. "My desire for my students is to give them a realization that the study of history is essential to gaining a better understanding of God; God often reveals Himself through His dealings with man, which is exactly what history is. It is impossible to study history without seeing the providence of God."

Miss Rebekah Pringle, BA, MA

Miss Rebekah Pringle, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMiss Pringle's interest in literature began at an early age through her mother's almost daily reading aloud of good literature as a part of her family's school day. The past 10 years of focused study and teaching in the disciplines of Creative Writing and English have increased Miss Pringle's delight and enthusiasm in analyzing and evaluating all genres of literature. “Everyone loves a story. A well-crafted story, poem, essay, or drama delights me on several levels, but it's the benefit of gaining an increased understanding and appreciation of God's inspired literature, His Word, that motivates me to apply and grow in my own literary analysis skills and to do my best to instill in my students a similar desire for and delight in literature. It's my prayer that as we enjoy great literary works together we will be inspired to love and pursue God's truth presented in His greatest Book of literature.”

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by First year with BJU Press; working hard, learning a lot. This is my first year using BJU Press Online. We have both the 8th and 10th grade curricula. It has taken me a while of working with the "system" to become proficient and utilize the benefits offered through the program. Each class covers a great deal of information in a day and some classes takes several days to complete thoroughly. On the other hand, there is great flexibility and a good resources which allow us to tailor to our needs and still gain a quality education. As the overseer, I needed to have good support and organization to be assured that I was offering the best information to each class, as well as being confident I was tracking the work well. This curriculum has provided both of these needs and I am confident that my children will be prepared for college and beyond. My husband has commented that because of the organization, he can step in to help and be confident he is doing the right thing. May I also note, that the teachers are careful to integrate a love of Christ and the a love for students into their classes which has been unique and treasured. I am pleased when a class opens with prayer or the students are challenged to live godly whether it is French class or Science or Bible. It is a pleasure using this curriculum. November 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly Recommended! This program is wonderful. Once again, Mrs. Vick does an excellent job of explaining the information in a clear and concise way. The material in the book is thorough with plenty of detail without being overwhelming. Some of the labs use materials and equipment that I don't have, and I chose not to buy a kit. But, the labs are demonstrated on the video, and for middle school, it's enough for me to have my son watch and not do every lab. The online features are very easy to use for a first-time online customer. The quizzes and tests grade themselves and the student's average is calculated automatically. The only downside I have found with the program is that there is no place for the teacher to record the non-mastery grades. You would have to keep track of those manually and average them in later. No big...I just dropped them and they didn't have an impact on the grade anyway. Online science has made my life easy this year. December 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by we are very excited about such excellent Christian curriculum. We ejoy learning through Bob Jones curriculum. I know and trust the teachings of the teachers and can see their passions for the students and the daily encouragements to the students about following Christ. October 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Challenging academic content Courses are well taught and geared toward causing the student to think rather than only memorizing factual information. Coursework is definitely geared to prepare the student for digging and thinking when he enters the university world. Bible content is very conservative in nature and well integrated throughout the courses. The highlight of every day for our student has been watching the Bible course lessons before breakfast. Rated 4 out of 5 by Oganizationally challenging This is our first year to homeschool so I will give my honest opinion. Finding all the quizzes, worksheets, answer keys, etc. is very difficult. Each subject material is organized differently. The facilitator has to look in multiple folders to find everything needed to teach a chapter, and every subject is organized differently. It has made it very time consuming on the part of the parent/ facilitator. It would be extremely helpful if everything you needed to teach a chapter was located in a chapter folder (e.g. Chapter 1 should have all worksheets, quizzes and answer keys organized within the Chapter 1 folder), instead of having to search within 4 or 5 folders for what you need for that chapter. And a little more consistency throughout all the subjects would be most helpful. August 21, 2013
