The student's worktext's format is colorful and neat. It has informative examples and does not put too much on a page. I also like that it includes word problems on most pages. The teacher's manual is organized where one can tell at a glance what is taught that lesson and what materials are needed. It is a clean and clear presentation. The only thing I don't like is that the answer key is small - too small for old eyes.

I'm very glad we switched to bju. It's solid and sometimes heavy but it only adds to practice.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Avocadolover Very complete math curriculum
This is an excellent curriculum. I'm finding that my student is gaining a better understanding of numbers already! I especially love the "Teach for Understanding" section that is done before the student is doing a worksheet from the textbook. This part of the teacher's guidebook is excellent for helping the teacher know if the student really understands the concept yet. Lots of questions are provided so the teacher can know what to ask the student! Very helpful!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by KimF Great for new-plus-review
I bought this book for my newly-adopted foster daughter who is way behind in school, due to learning disabilities that the public schools just didn't have time to fully address.
The visual, colorful presentation has been especially helpful to her, and the frequent reviews of math facts and prior skills has been invaluable. This has been the perfect math book for her as she transitions from public to home school. I am very grateful.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jen100 LOVE THIS Math PROGRAM
This program is very comprehensive, sequential, and challenging when appropriate. I like how it introduces a skill, reinforces it, builds upon it, reinforces, and tests.
Some math books are so scattered on their topics that students and teacher have a hard time focusing on the specific goals to be learned.
Bob Jones' simple format is refreshing!

Rated 2 out of 5Â by 4thgradeFBA 4th Grade
The curriculum is clearly written and is simple to implement. However, its simplicity is also its downfall. It has very few tools to actually help a teacher differentiate his/her instruction in order to meet the needs of all the students. A teacher would have to pull in a good number of outside resources in order to create a more complete curriculum. Also, in particular, the 4th grade curriculum has faulty math as it teaches that books, rugs, paper, etc. are 2D objects.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by blessings My son enjoys it!
I was a public school teacher before homeschooling my kids. The way I like to teach is to have hands on materials and visuals to go along with the lessons. I find this material to meet these requirements. I also enjoy the stories and related bible verses and lessons that go with some of the lessons. I will be ordering from BJU for my 7th grader next year.
