Rated 5 out of 5Â by LoriT Outstanding teaching tool and resource
The 7th grade writing and grammar book is an excellent practical learning tool for students. At the end of the school year I tell the 7th and 8th graders to hold on to the book to use in high school as a resource when writing essays, reports, etc.
The set up and examples for the students are excellent practice and preparation for standardize testing.
Thank you BJUPress!

Writing & Grammar 7 is a great book! It covers all the needed grammar and gives the students an excellent grasp on the writing process. Easy to use and includes review. The CD for the parents' use is also very helpful!

I have used BJU for the past 2yrs, Coming into 7th grade was a bit scary, I had not planned to homeschool this year but a move to a new area provided no other alternative. Getting the curriculum books was a bit of a jolt also due to the new formatting. It took a little time and required me to step up my knowledge of the subject but everything has been flowing nicely.

The last of my four homeschooled children is going through this book. I have used the entire BJUP English/Writing/Grammar series for all of them and found it to be excellent.

I have been using 7th grade BJU Grammar for 8 years in my 7th grade English class. I find the grammar concepts and summary, practice the skill, and review the skill are an adequate assessment of the skill being taught.
Sometimes the directions are more confusing that the actual skill being taught. This is especially true for the test reviews and the test worksheets purchased separately.
In our culture of grammatical chaos, I find this textbook helpful in teaching the fundamentals of grammar.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Anndelion different format than their 6th grade English
I am math strong and language weak and love the way they teach writing assignments, with one chapter in grammar and the next in writing. Though not as intense as the ABeka language curriculum I enjoyed using the BJU 6TH GRADE ENGLISH more. The reasons were that each lesson was in order and labeled so I can tell what lesson it was. I also liked how the lessons were clearly described for the student to read. A self motivated student can learn without much help from mom. I have looked through the 7TH GRADE books and the lessons are not labeled on the pages and aren't located in order because the lessons glean from other chapters at times. However, there is a suggested teaching schedule in the back of the teacher's edition.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Megan4275 Great solid language and writing text.
Grade 7 Writing and Grammar has great qualities. It is challenging but can be self taught because it breaks language down into small pieces. My child has improved his language skills in speaking and writing through this text. The only thing I would add is possibly more explanation for the answer book. Sometimes I cannot explain to my child why the answer is what it is. I realize adding more explanation would probably raise the price and I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Overall my child can understand the language concepts and has shown improvement in applying what he has learned. I know for sure that having the high caliber of this text throughout highschool will aid my child greatly when going to college and beyond.

The BJU press program is easy to use. I had tried others that were less "laid out" for me, the teacher and they don't compare. Flip to the back of the students book for chapter review. Easy to find answers in the teachers book, and in the back of the teachers book, you'll find answers to sentence diagramming, and a suggested lay out for the year. I will definitely continue to use BJU press in the future.
