Rated 2 out of 5 by Not recommended for Homeschooling families Unless the teaching parent has a music degree I think this curriculum is unusable for the homeschooling family. We made it to the 3rd unit but I gave up when I couldn't understand the material after reading the teacher's manual and student book. There is a definite assumption of in-depth musical knowledge that most homeschooling teachers can't hope to have. My son loves BJU curriculum but this is one that we will have to skip. Rated 4 out of 5 by Music Appreciation I think the book is too involved for it's target audience. If we offered a senior high school music history class, perhaps it would be more appropriate. It is a straightforward factual book, but I don't know how much it helps our students appreciate music. Our teacher has had to work hard to adapt the material in the book to her class. In a day with vast resources on the internet, why don't you include a software package that can bee utilized by the class to better understand music. Also, I think you need to look at controlling the cost of your merchandise. Costs have caused us to start looking at curriculum offered by you competitors. August 26, 2013
