I really like the older editions of the BJU products both books and distance learning. The content was simpler than the new editions which seem to give so much information that they almost seem to be on college level. The teachers seemed to be more creative and funny in the older editions of the distance learning as well. My suggestion to BJU customer service is to make both the old and new editions available to parents in both books and distance learning, so that parents can choose what is best for their child. I am talking about all grade levels. The revisions in the bju products have been major almost completely changing the bju style. I would like to see the older editions made available to those who are interested.

BJUP offers the best material, as well as the best quality distance learning. We love the enthusiasm of the teachers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by benscooling4ever Honestly- I am very frustrated with this online course
. As a busy mom, who has time to read 400 pages of instruction for each course we teach? Your use manual is not user friendly at all. And the website design is amateur and difficult to maneuver through. I often have to go back to the home just to get a little more info on what we are looking at. I have learned via trial and error most of what I need to know to make this work, along with a phone call which was, by the way, VERY helpful. Strengths: comprehensiveness, text, most lectures, The teacher is good but weighs way too much on teaching biblical principles, which we have covered over and over for our high school student. Also- the time involved in using (grading, testing, checking tests, editing out unnecessary work, etc...) this course for my student is immense! There is way too much lecture. Even though I have used BJU for 18 years for some subjects unless it is simplified, I will think twice before using a BJU online course again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by clearlyirish It might be just me but the DLO isn't user friendly
After using SOS's program for the last three years we switched my son to DLO. The user interface is not as friendly and easy to navigate as SOS. My son and I have had a hard figuring out where everything is, what all is expected each day and how best to go about making sure it all gets done. We are on day 5 and still don't have a good rhythm going. I have printed out the lesson plans for each subject so we not only have a hard copy in front of us but he can then review online what is supposed to be done. I really think the user interface for the DLO needs to be updated with a more user friendly set up.
I also don't like how the math work is set up. He does the odd problems and is supposed to check his work and then I check the even. It would be better if there was a practice set up that he could do and then the regular lesson for me to grade instead of having to do every other problem at a time. Oh- And the lessons don't even completely conclude the chapters. Some problems are left unrequired.
I do like the content and think the material is very good. I love that the lessons are all set up for us and that there are lecture videos.
But, I think a few tweaks need to be made in order to get this program to as high of a quality as the material is.

The Distance Learning for Geometry has helped me and my daughter get through a tough course. This online course has saved me money because I no longer have to pay a tutor to come teach what I am unable to teach. We have only two suggestions: it would be great to be able to get past all the additional talking and just hear the lecture. Also, as the co-teacher was unable to set up her grading scale as told I could. So making sure that is available would be great.
