Lease a Grade 2 Hard Drive and get access to all the following Distance Learning courses:

At the end of 13 months, you return the Hard Drive, but the textbooks are yours to keep.

Technical Requirements for Distance Learning on Hard Drive
- Pentium class, 1 GHz processor or the equivalent.
- Windows 7, Windows XP service pack 2 or Windows Vista
- Minimum of 512MB RAM (or more as required by the operating system).
- USB 2.0 port
- Best viewed at 1024 x 768 screen resolution
- External speakers with adjustable volume control recommended

This is an excellent, engaging and KJV bible-based curriculum, but it is for Private School use. It is NOT condensed for Home School use and that is a major problem.
We purchased the 1st & 2nd Grade Hard Drive Curriculums this year, and find that you have to go to ALL of the following items to sort out EACH days class needs - times the number of classes. This is totally unreasonable, and they should all be consolidated into ONE volume for the Home School Teacher:
Video Lesson Guide
Teacher's Support Material Print Out
Teacher's Toolkit
Teacher's Edition for the specific Class
CD's that get referenced
Workbook for the Class
Text for the Class
The 'Oops' Log of errors in answers or text that were identified after the Class was printed/taped
In addition, as you go through the above, you must sort through a LARGE list of abbreviations that may or may not be used by each Class and then GO to them to get info or items for the classes, including:
TE, TTK-CD, SM-CD, TSM-CD, PMM, ST, WT, AM, NB, SA, RV, MR, A, S, *, SMP, and more
A few other miserable factors are:
1. PDF's on CD's do not have page numbers, so it makes it VERY difficult to print out just what you need.
2. Student Workbook sheets and manipulatives are not called what the Teachers calls them at times, though they are numbered.
3. The Home School Teacher is required to watch a video before each class in many cases, adding to the length of preparation time.
4. There is no Supply List for each Class. You have to go through the daily Class Guides to pick out what is required - times every class everyday.
In closing, for the price, it is unacceptable that BJU has not 'bitten the bullet' and condensed everything for their Home Schooling Teachers sakes, so that there is ONE Teacher's Edition with teacher's using the same terms as on the videos, ONE Lesson Guide to refer to, plus the Class textbook and worksheets and video they watch each day.
IF Home Schooling Moms are a tiny fraction of BJU business I can understand it, but if they are a significant percentage, then it is incredibly unjust to cost ALL the Mom's out there this terrible duplication of effort daily, instead of condensing and homogonizing each class once and for all.
