Rated 5 out of 5 by DVD with books for Grade 3 I purchase this set for my granddaughter to use in our first attempt at homeschooling. My Granddaughter is a special needs child that was getting passed on by the school system and not being taught anything. She is much older that the normal age for a child in 3rd grade but that is where the school system left her. She is very excited now to learn. She is improving so much and we are hopeful that eventually she will close the gap between where she is now and where she should be. The DVD system is great because my daughter who is doing the helping for her daughter is also a special needs person. So the material is actually helping both mother and daughter Thank you for offering this great material. The .only problem we have is the cost is somewhat prohibitive for us. We are having to sacrifice a great deal in order to do this. Wish there was some kind of scholarship program for low income families. September 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by BJU all inclusive curriculum First year using this curriculum. With all the different guides and papers it can be confusing and frustrating. However, the content is solid. October 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I whole heartedly recommend!!! BJU homeschool has an outstanding product. I am especially impressed with the Science teacher, Mrs. Vick. She has REALLY worked very hard on always providing hands on examples of concepts that she is trying to teach. Math by Ms. Overly is also well done. It is clear and easy to understand. She also does Spelling. This seems to be a slightly older video series and could use a little updating. English and Handwriting is done by a very friendly teacher who my child finds very likeable. Reading is done well. We feel it can drag on a little with the book recommendations, but the program is done well and thoroughly explained. The only course that I have anything negative to say is Bible. Bible is my only source of frustration. I feel that using the King James Version of the Bible is very advanced for a third grader. If each of the verses was looked up together with the teacher and thoroughly explained, this would be acceptable. But the kids are left on their own to do it. Overall, I rate each of the catagories as excellent because the teachers are enthusiastic, thorough, and very clear and easy to understand. The program is well laid out and they have been very thoughtful about what goes into the day. I appreciate the video lesson guide as this make is simple to organize our day. October 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent I and most importantly, my kids, love this curriculum! It is easy to understand & they are learning so much! The way this curriculum shows God in science is wonderful! My 3rd grader and 1st grader do it together and love it! Highly recommend! It is expensive, but worth it! September 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the DVD's with BJU I am very pleased with the 3rd grade curriculum so far. The start has been some review with adding a few harder concepts along the way. The videos are mostly up to date and hold my 3rd graders attention. I am pleased with the Biblical integration used though out all of the subjects. Looking forward to another great year with BJU. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great teaching...Big help! Wish I had done this program years ago. Teaching curriculum in a way that my students would listen and learn was a big struggle in the past. This curriculum does a great job at teaching the lessons. My only complaint would be that it is "outdated". The materials are great but the makeup of curriculum and technology has changed a lot since these videos were made. March 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This course is well done and is meeting our needs. Mrs. Vick does an excellent job teaching. Her love for science is contagious! My fourth grader and second grader are doing Science 3 together this year, and it has been working very well. The daily lesson on the DVD adds much more than what we would get from just using the textbook. December 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by So happy I'm homeschooling with BJU! I was always afraid to homeschool my daughter because the task seemed daunting, but then a good friend introduced me to the BJU curriculum. It is practically "plug and play" so that even a newbie homeschool mom can be successful! My daughter loves the videos and has made tremendous gains in her ability and confidence in mathematics in just 2 weeks. I am thankful for such engaging, biblical materials, and for the ability to adjust specific portions of the curriculum up or down a grade to best meet my daughter's needs. September 30, 2013
