Grade 4 DVD with Books
Grade 4 is designed to reinforce students’ confidence in new skills. English 4 improves writing, spelling, grammar, and research skills. Math focuses on practicing basic math operations, and the science curriculum explores ecosystems, forces, and natural resources. In addition, Heritage Studies 4 teaches great events in American history from the late 1700s through the early 1900s.
When you lease the Grade 4 DVD Kit, you receive a DVD package that includes all the distance learning content for grade 4 as well as a Teacher Support Materials CD-ROM and all required textbooks and materials. At the end of 13 months, you return the DVDs, but the textbooks and materials are yours to keep.
Each DVD and Hard Drive grade or subject kit now includes a free printed lesson plan guide that lays out your daily schedule for each subject in an easy-to-follow format.

My youngest daughter loves all of her DVDs. She really loves her reading DVD.

I was reluctant to use DVDs, having always used just the textbooks and since we don't have much spare cash. A friend urged me to try it, so this year was our first attempt. My boys absolutely love them! They find the teachers very interesting, learn more than they were learning before, and don't spend any extra time on school than in the past. I only wish I could keep them long enough for my daughter to use as well, rather than having to order them again. I also wish I had ordered the whole package, curriculum included, as that would have been almost the same price as I spent on used books plus new DVDs. We chose DVDs so we could take them in the car with us. I also wish I had been using the Bible curriculum all along. This was the first year we tried the Bible, and I absolutely love it! It has such thought-provoking questions and has triggered many profitable discussions with my children.

This is our 2nd year of using Bob Jones 3rd-5th grades. The first year was online and this year we use the videos. We really like it and the children learn a lot!

I am very pleased with the Math 4 dvd! My son was struggling in Math and after using the dvd for only three months, he has shown great improvement. He needed to see some success. His confidence level was very low and now he is so proud ofhim self. The teacher does an excellent job of explaining with visual learning as well. The reviews are good and she makes it so much fun. I would highly recommend the product and look forward to using the Math 5 dvd.

After trying multiple writing curricula, I decided to try bjupress English, and I'm so glad I did. It's the answer to my prayer, and I couldn't be more pleased.
My 4th and 6th graders have learned a tremendous amount of grammar and have quickly grasped and embraced the writing process thanks to Mrs. Overly's engaging, thorough and effective teaching. I love how the grammar lessons are directly applied in the writing lessons that follow them. This method clearly demonstrates why grammar is so important and how the two (grammar and writing) go together. I will never teach grammar and writing separately again!
Mrs. Overly is such a kind, godly woman. She's extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I am so impressed with her expertise. Also, unlike myself, since she is a teacher on DVD, she is always perfectly prepared and never moody! ;-)
I love the flexibility of DVD's because we can watch the lessons anywhere in the house on any t.v. or computer.
I think it's wonderful that the DVD teacher teaches directly to the homeschool student as opposed to teaching a classroom full of children with a video camera set up in the back of the room as some curriculum providers do it. The bjupress teacher is able to focus all of her instruction on the homeschool student, and no time is wasted.
We have really enjoyed the themes, game shows and the "virtual field trips' as we call them. This adds some fun to the mix.
The video lessons are 15 minutes in length, so it takes us approximately 30 -45 minutes to complete a lesson. In the 4th grade course, completing a lesson usually takes 30 minutes. In the 6th grade course, it usually takes a little longer, more like 30 - 45 minutes.
There was a time when I wondered if my children were being adequately prepared for high school and ultimately college, but now I feel confident that they are receiving the best education possible. I would highly recommend the English DVD with Books Distance Learning Kit. It's definitely worth every penny...and then some!
