Rated 4 out of 5 by Disappointed2 Not as good as use to be
I have used this and have been very happy, but each year they supply less and less but the price stays the same. This year they took away the teacher edition books and replaced them with a disc. I like the books much better and they still charged the same price. When I first used this they supplied all copies of everything and actual books. Now I have to make copies of everything. I am disappointed this year especially since I still pay just as much as before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LAPP Excellent program! This is our third year using Bob Jones and we love it!
Bob Jones has been an excellent program for us. It has a strong Biblical base and is scholastically strong as well. This program has been a tremendous blessing for our family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jsmckean Grade 6 DVD with Books
I love our Bob Jones Grade 6 DVD and books curriculum . It gives me, the homeschool parent, a little freedom from teaching, the teacher is on the dvd. I feel like my children get an excellent learning experience, the dvd's keep their attention. The only thing I'm not happy with is the teacher's ed. being on cd-rom, my computer doesn't play them very well. So, if I want the hardcopies, I have to pay extra for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Momofmany Excellent help for homeschooling families
For two years I have struggled to continue to educate my large family in the midst of medical trials. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and although it is not terminal it has proven to be life altering. Many times throughout last year I would tell The Lord how alone I felt and how unable to keep up with instruction and daily life. I attended the concerfednce in VA and purchased grade six. The next weekend my husband and I returned to PA and bought six more dvd kits to lighten my load. While I was watching the introductory videos I could hear the heart of the ministry at BJU distant education. They were there not to replace me as my children's teacher but come along side and be the help that I had so cried out to The Lord for. Thank you.

The BJU curriculum has been fantastic for my 6th grader. She works independently though each of the subjects and can’t wait to come and share with me what she has learned. She especially enjoys Mrs. Vick (she is wonderful with her examples and explanations). The teaching aspects from a biblical perspective were very important to me and meets all by expectations. It takes her about 5 hours a day which allows us to do extras like museums and art classes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Allen These classes are VERY dated.
My sixth grader was born in 2001. Several of these classes were FILMED in 2001. The science class (filmed in 2004) has a unit on earthquakes that includes a discussion of tsunamis but does not include any discussion the incredibly devastating and important Indonesian tsunami in 2008. The teachers have big hair and weird clothes. The kids don't look like real children to whom my child can relate. I bought the entire curriculum, but I am only using the DVDs in science and in handwriting (and in that class only for the calligraphy portions). We are using BJU press books (except math - which was WAY too easy for my student), but I am doing all of the teaching. I think this would be a good value if some of the courses weren't over a decade old, but in its current form, I simply cannot recommend the DVDs for distance learning. They are dated and hokey and odd. The books are pretty good - although spelling needs updating (there even the book is showing its age). I don't see how Bob Jones University can continue to sell this curriculum without updating. Before you buy, ask when the DVDs for your grade were recorded. I don't think anything recorded before 2009 should be sold in 2013.
