Our daughter is mid-way through 6th grade which is our first year with BJU. She is doing very well academically and truly enjoys the diverse teaching approaches in her various classes. For example, sometimes puppets and short skits offer a refreshing approach to tedious or boring material. People learn concepts in different ways, but BJU teachers as well as the textbooks present the material in a variety of ways which makes learning more complete. We have used other curricula that have been very dry, and it was difficult to gain the understanding necessary to excel in the class. My husband has been a school administrator for years, and he has recommended BJU curriculum to many of our fellow homeschoolers. We are looking forward to our daughter's 7th grade year and years following. Thank you BJU!

Rated 3 out of 5 by cewewee Good, but needs to be updated
The content of these videos are great, but they are not HD. They are a bit grainy and the powerpoint presentations used by the teachers is outdated. We are really enjoying the 6th grade science and heritage studies, though. My son hates English because the lessons take so long to watch. I think it's cool that each lesson revolves around a specific person, time in history, or event, but my son just wants to FINISH school for the day and he hates the detour. I don't require him to watch the English videos anymore, so it has shortened our a school day.

We have enjoyed using BJU Distance Learning.
The academic excellence is above the rest.
The recordings of the lessons should be updated more frequently though.
Thank you for providing excellent Christian curriculum.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Trina Love Reading & Science not crazy about Math
We have loved the classes with Mrs. Vick she is amazing at teaching and can relate to the children. Sixth grade math has been a challenge with Mrs. Seeling, she uses mostly technical terms and does not do a good job explaining for a sixth grader. I have to watch all the videos then interpret what she has just taught, she would be better suited to teach high school. Mrs. Vick taught fifth grade math and did an excellent job that is why we decided to do more classes online this year. However, if we had started of with Mrs. Seeling, we would not have come back. All the other subjects are fine, they could be updated as you can tell they were probably recorded sometime in the 90's, but the information is still useful. We are not using English or Handwriting so I can't comment on those classes.
