Technical Requirements for Distance Learning Online
- Processor: Pentium class, 1 GHz processor or the equivalent.
- Operating System: Windows 7, Windows XP service pack 2, Windows Vista, or Mac OSX 10.4 or later, or iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch).
- Memory: Minimum of 512MB RAM (or more as required by the operating system*).
- 20% free hard drive space
- Google Chrome Version 13.0 or later, Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or later, or Firefox Version 3.0 or later versions. Other browsers may be used, but may not support all functionality.
- Adobe Flash Version 9 or later
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or later
- High-speed internet connection: LAN, Cable or DSL Modem
- An active email account
*Note: Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will need a minimum of 1 Gigabyte of RAM to run Windows Vista or Windows 7, but 2 Gigabytes is recommended for optimum efficiency.

So far, we have used the BJU Grade 7 Distance Learning for English, History, and Science. We will also soon use the Literature and French. It has worked well for us. It especially fits my son very well. This program allows him to be independent, and he only occasionally asks me for help with his work. He has really liked the independence and seems to enjoy this way of learning. For the most part, the overall main ideas of the different concepts taught seem to stick with him quite well. I am really impressed with the quality of the teaching. I occasionally tweak the program to best fit our needs, but I would use it again and recommend it to others. For a "traditional" approach to homeschooling, I think this is a good program. Something I would LOVE to see is an update in the videos, but I realize that this would be a big undertaking. They are fairly modern feeling, but an even more updated video curriculum would be better.

Different than other curriculums we had used, but good once we got the hang of it. Thankful for the opportunity to grow in biblical knowledge, academic excellence and intimacy with Christ.
