Rated 5 out of 5 by mamachacha For a strong acedemic program with a biblical worldview choose BJU press
As a former teacher and mother of 6 who has evaluated many different curricula, I have been very pleased with BJU press. It is a high quality curriculum taught from a biblical worldview helps me as a parent by providing rubrics for grading subjective materials and answer keys. It makes learning enjoyable and home schooling less tedious.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hsm3 Much Better!
The grade 8 curriculum is very well done. My child especially likes the history. As a parent, I appreciate the changes that were made this year making it much easier for me. I love that all that I need is now in one place. Thank you for making the changes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by jawsmccraw Good curriculum, but confusing plans
I have used BJU for 8 years, and have been pleased with the curriculum as well as the home study program. However, the layout of the English 8 curriculum is extremely confusing. I don't like the way the lesson plans are mixed in with the actual assignment pages. It is also very challenging to figure out what to grade each day and how to assign a grade.

This teacher is very good and engaging. Holds my sons attention and he clearly learns from the material presented.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Akvmomof3 Biblically sound, academically rigorous curriculum
DVD/ parent guide manual enormous and cumbersome. Material takes many, many hours to complete each day. Doesn't always allow for extracurricular activities. Definitely not for kids with learning differences.

The only thing I would suggest for this product is: include the teacher manual with the dvd and student book. I am not a fan of having the manual on the disc. I like to have the book with me, so that I can sit down with my son while he is doing his work. We love Mr. Harmon!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sally Thorough but often tedious
The materials are very thorough. I am confident that all material will be covered well by the end of our school year. However, at times all this thoroughness becomes tedious for my gifted student. I also find it very difficult to balance all the sections for each class...teacher's materials, CDs, supplemental pages, student pages, facilitator's pages, and more. My suggestions: consolidate as much as possible. Limit materials to student text, teacher's text with answers, and supplemental materials all together in one location. Also, the videos seem rather dated. An update in style with varied locations for presenting lectures would be much appreciated.
