Mrs. Sarah Lawson, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningMrs. Lawson previously taught kindergarten for four years. "One of my goals in teaching is to help your child feel successful at his present level and to encourage him to improve. Throughout the lessons, we talk about simple yet extremely important concepts, such as ‘God made me special,’ and ‘God gave me the Bible.’ I enjoy talking about these things with the children through the lessons. I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was a little girl, and I’m thankful to the Lord for letting me teach your child through this Distance Learning program."

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent We love this curriculum. The teachers are engaging and the content is great. I couldn't find any information regarding how much work is involved for the parent so I'll share my thoughts for anyone else who is wondering the same thing. There is quite a bit of prep work, honestly. But it can mostly all be completed before you start, at the beginning of the year. There are things to color and laminate and cut out, the math manipulatives must be punched out and bagged, etc. However, you cannot beat BJU Press for their organization. They have made everything as simple as possible, you just have to do some prep work in the beginning. They supply you with a list of everything you will need for the entire year so you can gather up anything you don't have on hand. I found that very helpful. Also, the Moms Minutes for each lesson are presented by the teacher to let you know what your child will be learning that day (example: the day they discuss smoke detectors, the teacher lets you know to expect your child to ask about them) and what supplies you need to have available. This information is also provided in written format, but I like to watch the short Moms Minutes because the teachers show you finished crafts and projects so you can see what they should look like. So, there is quite a bit of prep work for mom at the beginning, but then through the year it is very manageable and easy to keep up with. And best of all, it's fun and your child will learn so much! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent content My daughter loved this program. The teachers and other guests are very engaging and the content is wonderful. My main recommendation would be to upgrade filming the next batch of videos in high definition since technology is evolving quickly. The hard paper worksheets and schedules are also being upgraded, which will help the ease of pulling it all together each day. July 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Beginnings. This is our first year homeschooling. My kindergartener looks forward to his DVD's everyday. He loves Math the best so far! He learned his teachers names right away and really seems to respond well to them. I love how simple concepts are presented in so many different ways. So far it is going great! I am looking forward to seeing the progress during the year. Thanks! August 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by More than I could of imagined. This is an excellent curriculum. I am finding that it was worth every penny I spent. I couldn't be happier. After homeschooling my two older children through high school, I never thought I'd enjoy a dvd curriculum but BJU has exceeded my expectations. My daughter has just started Kindergarten and even my 2-1/2 year old is enjoying it and schooling with us. This is great because I don't have to worry about keeping him busy. He practices cutting and hangs around during our worksheet time. During the DVD he actually participates. I was amazed to see that he is learning right along side my 5 y/o. August 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Must have Listen I just love our BJU Kindergarten and First grade. Our son has been using this curriculum since July. He is excelling with his phonics. If i could make a wish list for our BJU curriculum, it would be first that the cd rom had fact family printables..worksheets. My son is heavily right brained and I have found that when the fact families are presented in the BJU curriculum his confidece shines brighter. And my last wish would be apps for our computers/ phones BJU style..you guys are unmatched as far as Im concerned. P.S. I have four kids. All of which I will train up using BJU, I sure wish I could buy the Homesat DVDs rather than lease them! February 25, 2013
