Math 1 for Distance Learning

Math 1 uses manipulatives and real-life experiences to teach place value, addition, subtraction, geometry, time, money, measurements, and fractions–all with engaging themes and characters. Writing equations, reading graphs, and other concepts are introduced as part of problem-solving skills.

Mrs. Sarah Lawson teaches this course.

This course includes an abridged electronic version of the teacher’s edition that can be viewed while logged on to bjupressonline.com.

Recommended Viewing Schedule: five 30-minute lessons a week; 166 lessons per year

Register now! You will receive an email from BJU Press Distance Learning Online regarding login information for the online courses which will be available June 1. You will have through December 2014 to complete your online learning program.

Technical Requirements for Distance Learning Online

Processor: Pentium class, 1 GHz processor or the equivalent.
Operating System: Windows 7, Windows XP service pack 2, Windows Vista, or Mac OSX 10.4 or later, or iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch).
Memory: Minimum of 512MB RAM (or more as required by the operating system*).

*Note: Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will need a minimum of 1 Gigabyte of RAM to run Windows Vista or Windows 7, but 2 Gigabytes is recommended for optimum efficiency.

Throughout the lessons, we talk about simple yet extremely important concepts, such as ‘God made me special,’ and ‘God gave me the Bible.’ I enjoy talking about these things with the children through the lessons.
