Rated 5 out of 5 by Jen100 LOVE THIS Math PROGRAM
This program is very comprehensive, sequential, and challenging when appropriate. I like how it introduces a skill, reinforces it, builds upon it, reinforces, and tests.
Some math books are so scattered on their topics that students and teacher have a hard time focusing on the specific goals to be learned.
Bob Jones' simple format is refreshing!

The curriculum is clearly written and is simple to implement. However, its simplicity is also its downfall. It has very few tools to actually help a teacher differentiate his/her instruction in order to meet the needs of all the students. A teacher would have to pull in a good number of outside resources in order to create a more complete curriculum. Also, in particular, the 4th grade curriculum has faulty math as it teaches that books, rugs, paper, etc. are 2D objects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by blessings My son enjoys it!
I was a public school teacher before homeschooling my kids. The way I like to teach is to have hands on materials and visuals to go along with the lessons. I find this material to meet these requirements. I also enjoy the stories and related bible verses and lessons that go with some of the lessons. I will be ordering from BJU for my 7th grader next year.

These are punch out type manipulatively, in color, and are good for hands on learner a. They go along with the lessons, but are especially important for the distance learning program. If I wasn't using distance learning, I'm not sure I would understand how to use the manipulatives correctly even with the teacher manual. They could use a little better labeling on exactly what each item is and how it should be utilized.
