About the Courses
K5 teaches kindergarteners to apply their natural curiosity and start to develop a broad base of interests and gives them the basic tools they need to explore the world around them. In K5 Beginnings, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Lawson teach listening, oral composition, phonics, and reading comprehension while integrating art, science, and heritage studies concepts. K5 Math with Mrs. Rulapaugh helps your student begin developing a solid foundation of math concepts by using creative activities, games, and colorful manipulatives.
Beginnings K5
The Beginnings program provides thorough instruction for teaching phonics and reading skills. It follows an integrated approach that includes skills for listening and responding with oral and written composition. Complete Science and Heritage Studies units are woven into the themes. The Reading Books for K5 give practice in reading skills and build comprehension and habits that further reading fluency. Songs, charts, and activities aid in teaching phonics and word meanings.
Scheduling Information: 180 Days (160 video, 20 non-video); lessons are 60 minutes in length.
Math K5
Introduces math concepts, builds number sense, and develops problem solving skills.
Scheduling Information: 180 days; lessons average 25 minutes in length.
