K5 Complete Kit

As you teach your child to apply their natural curiosity, he or she will soon develop a broad base of interests and the basic tools they need to explore the world around them. In addition to teaching art, science, and heritage studies, K5 Beginnings teaches listening, oral composition, phonics, and reading comprehension. Math manipulatives are used in K5 Math to explain basic math concepts, such as numbers, time, and money.

Please note that this kit is not compatible with Distance Learning.

* Unless otherwise noted, kits may not have any partial returns or substitutions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reading Books for K5 Our teacher and students love these resources. The colors are beautiful and the "stories" engaging. Seems like the "Words at Work" and "Reading Guide" pages should be switched, since the Reading Guide is obviously for the teacher and means nothing to the student. Another suggestion - thicker paper. We decided to use volunteer help to disassemble, laminate and reassemble to make them last longer. $47 per student will hopefully make these last three (or more) years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent resource for kindergarten students This workbook has been easy to incorporate into our home school curriculum. My daughter finds the instructions easy to understand and the assignments fun to complete. I like the way the math problems use examples (from farm life) that show how the math principle is useful in real life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Homeschool Mom in SC I absolutely enjoyed teaching 3 of my 4 kids how to read and write. It's exciting to watch them learn and progress. We have used K3-10th materials, and K5 was by far my favorite. The lessons are interesting and fun, including nursery rhymes, songs, games, snacks, and crafts. The lessons are already designed and you can adjust them based on your child's needs. Whether in a classroom group or individually at home, you can tailor the lessons easily to fit your situation. I highly recommend the K5 kit and hope you enjoy the time spent with your child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal book This book is great! It’s colorful and engaging. The program characters are easy to remember and tie to concepts. The pages are a good size and volume of work for little ones. I’ve used it with older children and am excited to have another chance with my upcoming kindergartener.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Curriculum This was my second year using BJU as I also used it for PreK. I liked the Bible and Math curriculums and found them very engaging for my daughter. I liked the ELA curriculum as it was biblically based so I didn’t have to worry about questionable content in the reading stories. The phonics was good, but I did supplement the service words to include all of the dolch and fry word lists for Kindergarten. I also supplemented the writing component with other materials as the writing lessons included in the curriculum were not comprehensive. I felt that there was enough handwriting practice in the workbooks so the handwriting book was too much. It would be good to use for Summer handwriting practice or for busy work in a classroom setting. All in all I liked this curriculum and will continue using it for first grade.
