JourneyForth Books publishes fiction and nonfiction that reflects a worldview based solidly on the Bible and that encourages Christians to live out their faith. Located in Greenville, South Carolina, JourneyForth is a division of BJU Press, which publishes of a full line of K–12 textbooks for Christian schools and homeschools.
We publish stories that kids (preschool through high school) love to read and content that Christian teachers and parents trust.
For everyday Christians who want to grow, we offer Bible studies to facilitate thoughtful interaction with Scripture and topical books that stress practical application of spiritual truth.
We equip church leaders and studious believers with commentaries and other effective ministry resources.
JourneyForth identifies some of our classic novels as light abridgements for the sake of clarifying that they differ slightly from the original novel. The abridgement occurs in two ways.
- Obscure words have been replaced with appropriate synonyms. These are words that cannot be found in a current dictionary or are not easily comprehended from the context of the surrounding text.
- Long narrative and descriptive passages have been tightened or deleted when they do not advance the story.
These changes have been made with the today's reader in mind and to maintain the integrity of the author's literary heft while improving the readability.
